Consequently, the Thai authorities have issued an order prohibiting the marketing of the game throughout the kingdom. For its part, the company New Era Interactive Media, which is the sole legal distributor of the game in Thailand, announced it was withdrawing the sale of GTA.
Indicted for possession of a weapon, robbery and murder the perpetrator is liable to the death penalty or life imprisonment.
Since its release in early May, the fourth part of the saga, GTA IV has sold over six million copies worldwide. Two years ago, the United States, a teenager who played the game every day, shot two police officers and a telephone emergency service (911).
